Hot off the press, RIM’s upcoming slider called the BlackBerry Bold 9800 has been leaked on the internet and we can now bring you some great pics of not only the new handset, but also sneak peaks at the new BlackBerry OS6! Though the phone seems a little bulky, it poses the great BlackBerry touchpad, and incorporates a touch screen, as well as the keyboard at the bottom.

The new pics of the Bold 9800 give great views of the upcoming slider smartphone’s WebKit browser and virtual QWERTY keyboard (as part of BlackBerry OS 6), as well as a glimpse of the media player which has a clone of Cover Flow to display the media on the device.

Z-Three eyes UK dealer market

BlackBerry accessories distributor Z-Three has launched a new strategy focused on the UK market. The London-based distributor has built a team specifically focused on the UK and now supplies accessories to 51 countries. The distributor, which was first founded in 2006, has a particular focus on authentic BlackBerry accessories and is an authorised global master distributor of the manufacturers accessories.

The accreditation has allowed the company to create 'a niche in the market', said Z-Three commercial director Philipp Gutzwiller, who will be overseeing the push into the UK. Z-Three’s new team includes marketing manager, Petra King, who will work alongside Gutzwiller to push a new strategy of targeting dealers to sell products.

Z-Three is looking to attract dealers who sell to corporate organisations, the public sector and medium retailers. Gutzwiller said: 'The UK is the biggest market for BlackBerry outside North America. We are focusing 100% on BlackBerry products, which means we can focus on the BlackBerry user base, and it allows us to be highly specialised.'

Gutzwiller added that Z-Three is taking a 'different' approach to the market. It will approach dealers selling to segments it has identified as being able to benefit from BlackBerry accessories. Dealers will be able to direct their customers to Z-Threes website, where they can order the products and be eligible for a discount.

Gutzwiller said: 'We are looking to offer a service to our reseller partners by allowing them to get a margin all they have to do is point the customer to our website and we will fulfill their order.'

Tips for saving your BlackBerry Battery -- 13.05.2010

As BlackBerry is slowly becoming the leading Smartphone provider across the world, we are slowly seeing more and more queries surrounding BlackBerry Battery Life and it running out too soon. At Z-three we have found a few tips that may be useful in saving your battery life.

A Few Tips:

1. A BlackBerry constantly searching for signal drains the battery quickly. In an office building, residence, or rural area with low signal coverage, you will experience a quicker battery drain. Turn off the “radio” on the home screen or the data signal if you must reduce battery drain in severe circumstances (Options > Mobile Network > Data Services = OFF).
2. Check your Applications running in the background. Press your Menu key and then choose Switch Applications to see what is running in the background (or, hold down the Menu key about 3 seconds for the App Switcher ribbon to appear). There are commonly four or five applications that will always be running (Messages, Call Logs/Phone, BlackBerry Messenger, Homescreen.
3. Turn off the Bluetooth connection when you don’t need it (Options > Bluetooth).
4. Some applications such have a “battery save mode” when idle. Log off applications such as JiveTalk, AIM, Google Talk if you are not using them for long periods of time.
5. Use your sleeper-magnet enabled holster (Available at 4MyBerry.co.uk). The magnet in the holster is there for a reason – it puts the BlackBerry to sleep, saves the battery, and makes you a happy camper

These are but a few recommendations to make best use of your BlackBerry Smartphones battery life. Remember that BlackBerry batteries are not inferior to other models such as Iphones, BlackBerry Batteries are simply used a lot more intensively!!

We have a quite a few developments to report on in this issue such as our attendance at the Safety and Health Expo in at the Birmingham N.E.C. and of course news on the latest apps available. A number of our Z-three representatives have attended the Safety and Health Expo in Birmingham where a number of industry leaders will be attending. As Europe’s largest annual event for the industry, Safety & Health Expo unites thousands of key health and safety professionals with more than 300 leading manufacturers, distributors and suppliers.

The 2010 event is set to be bigger and better than ever before with exciting new features and more than 90 hours of topical free seminars. Our Z-Three representatives will be showcasing a number of new products that we have such as OtterBox protective casing for your BlackBerry smart phone, as well as the innovative BlackBerry Presenter which you can use to give presentations straight from your BlackBerry without the need for a laptop!

The show will be taking place between the 11th and 13th of May, ad we will be posting pictures of our progress as the event continues!

Tuesday ! Day 1 WES

Started with waking up with only 2 hours sleep, but I was excited. Showered dressed and at the stall setting up by 7.30.

Then the keynote address by RIM CEO was amazing. The future of BlackBerry is certainly more exciting that other phones. Good place to be in.

Full day of meeting people and manning the stall. Amazing lunch.

Even better was the evening party. The venue was the same place as the keynote session but seemed like a million miles away. Amazing transformation in 1 day! With pool tables, foosball tables, drink stands, food stands etc. Little tents to sit in.

Started by Bedouin soundclash. A good band, then by our own Brit Joss Stone, and finally by Will.I.am being the DJ at the event.

Wes walla's WES experience! - Day 0 - Mayur Raja

It has certainly been an eventful 1st day at the WES.

Monday day - WES

Started by us arriving to the Marriott on Monday evening. Eventful drive from Ft. Lauderdale. We had a small breakdown on the way, ran out of petrol. Apparently Ryan thought that when the fuel gauge shows 'E' it means enough!!

Anyway got to the hotel and our boxes with the stand stuff were missing and Ryan went hunting while I checked in. By the time the boxes were retrieved, it was too late to set up the stand.

We decided to go with the flow and network with the other WES crowd.

The Marriott is huge! Met some interesting people and then we went to the Wes After Dark party to the Blue Martini. It was full and one of the popular hangouts.

Met some RIM guys apart from the MD of RIM Australia. Good fun, ended up being thrown out of the club as it was closing time. Only 2.30!! Felt like I was back in India.
